Thank you for letting us know about Carsington Water. As the photo might be hard to read the information can be read below....
As part of our 30th birthday year we've updated some
our playground and we wanted to share some
information about our new accessible play equipment.
• We have added two basket swings, one in the infants and one in the junior section. You'll also find a swing seat in the junior section and the straps for this can be borrowed from the visitor centre.
• We've added interactive panels and games all around the play area and these are all at ground level. This includes sensory and musical play panels.
• Our carousel in the junior section features a seat and the carousel in the infant section is fully accessible for wheelchairs.
• We've also resurfaced the path between the visitor
centre and the play area to ensure it's a bump-free
Journey.
It might also be helpful to know that we have accessible parking bays right next to the playground and two disabled toilets at the visitor centre. Our designated quiet space can be found at the back of the main car park. The Purple Trail which takes in Stones Island is our most accessible route with a level tarmac surface and plenty of seating along the way.
Carsington Water has lot of other outdoor activities, restaurant and walks. There are two accessible bird watching hides.
Mobility scooters are available for hire.
